Dave spent 24 years in the US Air Force, and has over 40 years fishing/guiding experience. He specializes in reef and off shore fishing, along with pleasure cruises.

He has always loved to fish; started as a deck hand when he was young, then became a tournament angler and TV host. Dave has traveled across the United States as a freshwater tournament angler, sport fished the Pacific Ocean out of Sand Diego and Hawaii, then the Atlantic Ocean out of North Carolina. Now, he has made the Gulf of Mexico his home waters. For the past four years, he has Captained the boat “I’m Hooked” out of Emerald Coast Marine, Niceville FL. As a diversified angler, he targets Snapper, Amberjack, Grouper, Triggerfish, Redfish, and other reef fish or if offshore trolling is your desire he can target pelagic fish such as King Mackerel, Barracuda, Mahi, Wahoo, Black Fin, and Sailfish. He will get you out to the fish and back in comfort on his 2018 Key West Billistic center console, powered by twin Yamaha 250 motors.  The boat is equipped with the top of the line Daiwa rods and reels, the newest tackle, rigging techniques, Garmin Electronics, Taco Outriggers and has all USCG required safety equipment.  It also has a full bathroom, wash down, and fresh water for your comfort. After your charter, your catch will be filleted and bagged or prepared for a hook-n-cook at the restaurant located at Emerald Coast Marina.

If you are looking for a private tour of Destin Harbor, sunset cruise, Dolphin watching, or even a day trip to crab island, then Dave’s your guide. For this adventure all you need to bring is your favorite beverage, food, and sunscreen. Then, let the Captain handle the boating responsibilities so you can kick back enjoy spending time on the water with your family and friends.

THE LOCAL’S EATERY

located at Emerald Coast Marine Center

A rustic restaurant overlooking Emerald Coast Marine will soon offer the community another hot spot for seafood straight from local waters.

The Local’s Public House Eatery, located at Emerald Coast Marine’s Niceville HQ location, will feature an assortment of seafood, hardy entrees and greens made fresh by Chef Cory Hassett, former chef of the Original Waterfront Crab Shack in Fort Walton Beach.

Hassett, along with co-owners Joey Luna and Justine Sauvageau, decided to open the restaurant, set to open on July 2, after the marina owners informed them of the building’s vacancy. Hassett said the team hopes to offer a unique menu, shying away from fried shrimp and oysters like most local seafood joints.

Customers can enjoy the dishes inside the restaurant, or enjoy the view of Boggy Bayou under a covered patio. The restaurant also features two wooden garage-style doors that open up the restaurant during days with favorable weather conditions.
