Smoked Sesame Chicken Wings

Craving some smoked chicken wings with a sweet and spicy taste of Asia? Emerald Coast Marine Center presents a sesame-basted superstar that will have boaters cranking up their engines!

Smoked Chicken Wings with Sesame Ginger Glaze

 

1 lb chicken wings, soaked in a brine for 24 hours

1 lb smoking wood chips of your choice (pecan wood)

1 cup soy sauce 

1/2 cup sweet chili sauce

1 teaspoon sesame oil 

1 tablespoon fresh ginger chopped

1 tablespoon fresh garlic chopped 

1/4 cup Thai chili paste

1 bunch of cilantro  

Sesame seeds for garnish

Directions:

  1. On a smoker place the chicken wings on the indirect heat and smoke for approximately 2 hours or until the internal temperature of the chicken if 165 degrees. 
  2. Remove and set aside. 
  3. Preheat a deep fryer to 350 degrees.
  4. In a small sauce pot combine the soy, chili sauce, sesame oil, ginger, garlic and chili paste. Bring to a simmer for 5 to 6 minutes. 
  5. Fry the wings in the deep fryer for 4 to 5 minutes until crisp. 
  6. Toss in the sauce.
