Action-Packed “Locals Boat Show” Launches This Weekend

Multiple Boat Dealers and Outdoor Recreational Companies Host

Fun, Family-Oriented Water Sports Extravaganza

NICEVILLE, FL., September 25, 2018 – A group of leading marine retailers and affiliated outdoor recreational companies kick off the new “Locals Boat Show” this weekend at the Emerald Coast Marine Center in Niceville. This free boating extravaganza will be held both on land and water, featuring a variety of exciting events to attract and engage the whole family.

“Our goal in launching this show is to focus exclusively on our local community and to celebrate our awesome Emerald Coast boating lifestyle,” said event organizer Jeff Orbin. “The Local’s Boat Show will provide a great one-stop venue for locals to meet with area dealers, check out the latest new 2019 boats and products, plus take advantage of aggressive pricing on remaining 2018 inventory. In addition to showcasing the latest new products, we’ve added plenty of fun, with lots of great events and family entertainment features for everyone.”

The Local’s Boat Show is jointly presented by Galati Yachts, Emerald Coast Marine, Gregg Orr Marine and Automotive Group, the Ships Chandler, BOTE Paddleboard and Jet Surf Destin. A wide array of yachts, center consoles, bay boats, deck boats and pontoons from 18’ to 70’ will be on display including Cruisers, Prestige, Key West, Billistic, BlackFin, SeaPro, Crevalle, Crownline, Hurricane, Godfrey pontoons, Jupiter, Hewes, Maverick, Pathfinder, SeaBorn, Sundance, Century and Regulator. Electronics from Raymarine and Simrad will also be featured, along with other premium boating accessories like PowerPole, SeaDek and YETI.

In addition, BOTE paddleboards, JetSurf Destin and Pedego electric bikes will all be on site with ongoing live demonstrations throughout the weekend, flanked by a fleet of late model Porsche sports cars. Additional retailers rounding out the roster include Misti Shells Jewelry; Cool Fish clothing; the Coastal Conservation Association; the Coast Guard Auxiliary; and the Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance with its kid-friendly marine life touch tanks.

The Local’s Boat Show will showcase an action-packed event agenda including the Ship’s Chandler Fishing Tent which will offer a series of free fishing seminars by local experts, along with in-water demos. A kid’s dock fishing contest will be held daily with fun prizes, and a kid’s craft area will also be staged. Locals will learn about the newly-launched Emerald Coast Boat Club and enjoy free boat rides aboard new club boats. A giant 30’ LED TV screen will live stream top SEC and NFL games on Saturday and Sunday from the Betty G. Splashboards video boat that will be docked on site and visible from the pool, dock, sunset deck and restaurant.

Another show highlight will include live music daily from 3-5 pm by popular area bands. Oroborus performs Saturday, while Scenic Heights takes the stage on Sunday afternoon. Food and beverages will be offered by The Locals Public House & Eatery waterfront restaurant, as well as the popular Café Rico food truck. Show-goers may also sample local craft brews from Props Brewery, Grayton Beer Company, Pensacola Bay Brewing and Gulf Coast Brewery.

“Our boating businesses and event team has collaborated together to create a really fun event for our locals that far transcends the traditional boat show format,” said Orbin. “We hope that our friends in the community will come out to explore, experience and enjoy the best of boating at this event that has been designed expressly for locals.”
