Best Homemade Soup In NW Florida

After a late Summer or Fall day cruising on the water, nothing tastes quite as satisfying as a hearty cup of fresh soup or chowder! NW Florida boaters and residents alike love to pull in to our Local’s Waterfront Restaurant to enjoy some of the best fish entrees, bar food and homemade soup in the area!

Smoked Tomato Bisque

Servings: 6

1 can Canned Tomato crushed

3 each Tomatoes

2 cans Tomato sauce

1 each Yellow Onion chopped large

1 tablespoon chopped

2 tablespoons Canola oil

1qt. Vegetable or chicken stock

½ qt Heavy Cream

To taste Salt and pepper

Directions:

  1. Smoke the onions, whole tomatoes and garlic in a smoker for 30 minutes.
  2. In a large soup pot combine the canned tomatoes, tomato sauce, smoked tomatoes, onions, and garlic and bring to a simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. Add the stock and simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Puree in a blender or with a stick blender until smooth.   
  5. Return to the pot and simmer adding the cream for 4 to 5 minutes
  6. Season to taste.
